Several women undergo various hardships once they lose their husbands and become a widow. A widow is subjected to several social stigmas and is forced to lose every human right and social status required for living a good and dignified life. These usually are very common amongst the lower strata of the societies.
The social oppression and neglect of widows are very commonly witnessed. So, our House of Mercy team stands beside the widows living in isolation and struggling for the bare necessities in life like food, health, hygiene, and social security.
In Africa, widows live a tough life. They often face discrimination, humiliation, and tragedy. Their overall well-being and health are being ignored to a large extent, and they are forced to live silently with several health ailments and mental/physical trauma. We take a lot of initiative to feed and provide proper shelter to the widows who are suffering and are facing negligence in society. We also guide them on how to earn money and become financially independent, which, in turn, empowers the widows.
